Introduction

The Inter-House Cricket and Basketball Competitions for CBSE Boys (Classes VI–VIII) were successfully organized by the Department of Physical Education on 01 August 2026 (Saturday) as part of the Inter-House Sports and Games Programme for the academic year 2026–27. Students from Raman House, Gandhi House, Tagore House, and Vinobha House participated with great enthusiasm, determination, and sportsmanship. The competitions provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their athletic abilities while promoting teamwork, leadership, discipline, confidence, and healthy competition.


Objectives

The competitions were organized with the following objectives:

  • To promote physical fitness and active participation in sports.

  • To develop teamwork, cooperation, and leadership qualities.

  • To encourage discipline, confidence, and sportsmanship.

  • To provide opportunities for students to exhibit their sporting talents.

  • To strengthen inter-house unity through healthy competition.

Competition Highlights

The cricket tournament witnessed thrilling encounters among the four houses. Students displayed excellent batting, bowling, fielding, and teamwork throughout the competition. Every team competed with determination and discipline, making the tournament exciting and highly competitive.

Performance Analysis

Cricket

Raman House dominated the tournament through exceptional batting, disciplined bowling, and sharp fielding performances to emerge as champions. Vinobha House displayed remarkable consistency and determination to secure the runner-up position. Tagore House impressed with excellent teamwork and coordination to finish third, while Gandhi House participated enthusiastically and displayed commendable sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Basketball

Raman House once again demonstrated superior teamwork, excellent ball control, quick passing, and strong defensive play to secure the championship. Tagore House impressed everyone with fast-paced attacks and coordinated gameplay to finish as runners-up. Vinobha House produced several competitive performances to claim third place, while Gandhi House showcased determination, resilience, and a positive sporting spirit throughout the competition.
