Objectives
The Inter-House Waste Segregation Relay Competition was conducted for students of Grades III–V (CBSE) on 26 September 2026. The competition aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of waste segregation, environmental protection, cleanliness, and responsible waste management. It provided an engaging platform for students to learn the importance of separating different types of waste and adopting eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
The students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating their speed, accuracy, teamwork, coordination, and discipline throughout the competition. The relay format made the activity both educational and enjoyable, encouraging students to work together while understanding the significance of proper waste disposal. The participants were evaluated by the judge based on four criteria: accuracy (3 marks), speed (2 marks), teamwork (3 marks), and discipline (2 marks), with a maximum score of 10 marks.
The competition also highlighted the importance of the three Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—and encouraged students to develop responsible habits that contribute to a cleaner and greener environment. All the participating houses displayed commendable team spirit and enthusiasm, making the event a meaningful learning experience.

Conclusion

Raman House secured first place with 9 marks, followed by Gandhi House in second place with 8 marks, Tagore House in third place with 6 marks, and Vinobha House in fourth place with 5 marks.
The competition successfully encouraged students to understand the importance of segregating waste at its source and adopting environmentally responsible practices. It reinforced the message that every small effort towards proper waste management can make a significant difference in protecting the environment.
